One of my FAVORITE things...

I would like to start a new list on my blog called "My Favorite Things".  I would like to share my favorite things with you.  I always love when I read about what people like and then when I try it I love it too.  So for my first Favorite Thing...drum roll...

Mary Kay Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover.  I love this stuff!  Other eye makeup removers I have used in the past burn your eyes, or you have to rub so hard that the soft tissue under your eyes hurts.  Not the Mary Kay remover it is amazing and your skin is so soft afterwards.  It is very reasonable in price it is $15 and a bottle will last you a long time.  I have had mine for 6 months and I have only used a quarter of the bottle.

So go find you a Mary Kay representative or let me know I have a great one!

Pinterest Oh How I Love Thee

Those of you who don’t know about this fabulous site it is my addiction!  Between Pinterest and Facebook I don’t know what’s worse.  I was at my daughters cheerleading practice when the office lady was telling me that she follows my “pins” and when another parent asked what Pinterest was I think she explained it perfectly.  She said, “it’s like taking all your favorite things out of a magazine and having them right in front of you on your computer screen.”  I couldn’t have said it better myself!

I have been on Pinterest for a few months now and I would like to share with you a couple things I have learned.

 

Number 1

You have to request an invite.  How smart is Pinterest?! You have to be a member to spread the word about Pinterest!  The only thing wrong with that is Pinterest takes FOREVER to respond.  I have had friends wait for over a week.  I have seen people ask for invites on Facebook.

Number 2 

Once you get an invite you need to create and account…makes since right!  You can either log in with your Facebook or Twitter account.  That goes back to the genius of Pinterest, because now you can look for friends to join Pinterest that already interact with social media.  When signing up you will be prompted to set up some “Boards”.  You should title your “Boards” something that is easy for you to relate “Pins” to.  *Remember you can always edit your boards. 

 

Number 3

Find some Friends!  You can search your Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo, and Gmail contacts and see who is already a member to follow.  Plus as you search Pinterest and visit Pins you will find people who have fabulous Boards and you can follow them!

Number 4 

Now it’s time to start creating.  You can set up your Boards.  These are things that you find inspiration in, things you like, wish lists, creative ideas, things that make you say, “why didn’t I think of that” (I’ve had a lot of those)  *Remember you can edit them whenever you would like.

Number 5

Start Pinning!  Search Pinterest for ideas, crafts, styles, things and the Pins you really like re-pin them to your Board!  Plus it’s even better…let’s say you are on some random website and you come across something that you really like you can Pin it!  Tons of websites have “pin it” buttons on them already.

Pinterest is a BLAST!  I hope you all become members so we can share each other’s ideas.  I have made recipes from Pinterest, I have coordinated outfits from Pinterest, and I have made crafts with Pinterest.  I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do!

Cleaning & Rearranging

Whew! I am pooped! I have been moving stuff around my blog all day. I know that it doesn't look like much yet, but I haven't messed with this blog in so long I am having to teach myself all over again. I still have some typelists that I want to add and some buttons I would like to add, but I am going to have to google. I don't remember how!!!!

Chris and I worked at the store today. We are adding all of our lawn and garden to the floor. We should be getting the 2012 line up by the end of this week. Chris loves lawn and garden time. He tells me facts all the time about tractors and mowers. I myself am looking forward to the new patio furniture that is my favorite part.

We have a busy week this week. The girls have school. I have a meeting tomorrow morning before school and work with the president of the PTO about me being in charge of the Valograms for all the schools in our district. I don't know really what that in tales, but I guess I will find out tomorrow. Then Emma has cheerleading tomorrow. She is on a competition team and she is loving it. She has come a long way in the past couple of months I am really proud of her.

I'm Back

I tried to switch, but I should know better. I couldn't do it. I tried a couple other blogs that were free, but they would never do what I wanted them to do. So I am going to try my best to design and configure this blog the best way I possibly can! I have been creating and crafting and trying new products that I really like and I would love to share them with you
all. I tried on the other blogs, but that was one of the difficulties I was having!
I am looking forward to being back and keeping in touch with everyone!

Sprinkler Time

So one of the things that the girls love to do since we have been here is play in the sprinkler.  They go to Chris' parents and play in their sprinkler or when we get home from work sometimes fully clothed they get in our sprinkler when we are watering the grass.  I love that we don't have stickers and that we have the grass and the trees so the girls can play outside more.

 

 
 
 
 
Plus, today is my baby girls birthday!  Alexis turned 6 years old today.  We are having her a little birthday party with family and a couple that we have become good friends with since we have moved here.  She wants a rainbow color themed party.  I will post pictures of the party next week.

Summer Time Fun Time

Well this summer has been a busy summer, but in all the mess we are doing our best to have a fun summer!  We moved the week after school let out to Texas.  We are finally unpacked and we had our grand opening for our business and now we are using the rest of the summer to have fun.  I have been taking the girls swimming whenever I am off and on Mondays the pool is open until 9:30 and they love to swim when it's dark.  Plus it's really inexpensive and it's convenient because the swimming pool is at the end of our street.

When we first started swimming Alexis didn't know how to swim and Emma did.  My parents bought Alexis a life jacket swim suit thing so she could go where ever Emma was and I wouldn't have to worry about her drowning.  Well now Alexis can swim.  So both of my girls are like little fish!

We Moved...AGAIN!!!!

Well for those of you who don't know by now we have moved...again!  We moved to Grand Saline, Texas.  We have been here since Friday night at midnight.  The girls are really liking it here so far.  They really haven't got to see anything yet besides our new empty house and the Sears store.  We have been staying with Chris' parents until our moving truck gets here.  Our moving truck arrived about an hour ago.  We are going to have a lot of work to do. 

This weekend in Canton they are having an event that they have every month called First Mondays.  They have it the first Monday of every month.  It is a HUGE flea market people come from all over.  You can buy anything there.  It use to be a craft shop and over the years has become a huge retail event.  I am going to try to make an appearance there this weekend to see what all the talk is about.  They say that over 250,000 people come through in a four day period.

I will take some pictures of First Monday and I will take some pictures from my new home and town and share them with you all in the next couple days.

Happy Mother's Day

I was awoken this morning by Emma telling me not to get out of bed she had a surprise for me.  She made me coffee in bed!  She is the sweetest kid ever.  Alexis woke up after I got my coffee and she was so excited to give me the card that she made me at school.  I got the famous hand prints that your kids make you in kindergarten.  I have to say that is my favorite thing about the kids starting kindergarten. 

We went to my parents house today to celebrate with my mom, but she wasn't feeling very well.  But overall Mother's Day was a success!

Happy Valentines Day!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Valentines Day.  I sure did!  Chris surprised me with a night in Santa Fe.  We dropped the girls off with my parents around noon and then we headed to Santa Fe.  We stopped at the outlet mall and did some shopping.  Chris bought me 2 new pair of shoes!!!  I got him 2 dress shirts and a tie.  Then we went to our hotel.  We stayed at the Inn of the Govenors.  It was really nice and clean.

 
 

 

 

We had a wonderful time it was so romantic!  My legs are pretty tired today we walked all around Santa Fe.  We went to the Plaza and looked at all the shops and we went to the State Capital and looked at the art work.  We ate so much food.  The food really is amazing there.
